Alert Types and Requirements

1. Deviation Alerts

Standard Deviation Alert (P5)

  • Trigger Conditions:
    • Provider value deviates >5% from median value
    • Deviation persists for configured number of checks (10+ minutes)

Critical Deviation Alert (P2)

  • Trigger Conditions:

    • 30% or more providers deviate from median
    • Significant portion of providers show extreme deviations
    • Cross-validation with standard deviation alerts
  • Required Actions:

    • 15-minute mandatory observation period
    • Cross-reference with P5 alerts

2. Timestamp Alerts (P5)

  • Trigger Conditions:
    • Data age exceeds 2 minutes
    • Based on INTERVAL_SYNC_SIGNED_DATA * intervalsToCheck
    • Configurable through alerts-common settings

3. Provider URL Alerts (P5)

  • Trigger Conditions:
    • Network errors during provider data fetch
    • Endpoint timeout (7-second limit)
    • API response validation failures

4. Data Extraction Alerts (P5)

  • Trigger Conditions:
    • Value parsing failures
    • Timestamp extraction errors
    • Data format validation issues
    • Type conversion errors

Alert Handling Requirements

Standard Deviation (P5)

  1. Initial Assessment:

    • Monitor deviation percentages
    • Track duration of deviations
    • Check provider count ratios
  2. Escalation Criteria:

    • After 1 hour of persistent deviation
    • When 30% of providers are affected
    • Multiple feeds showing patterns

Critical Deviation (P2)

  1. Immediate Actions:

    • Begin 15-minute observation
    • Record deviation magnitudes
    • Check historical patterns
  2. Escalation Criteria:

    • After 15 minutes of persistent deviation
